The Indian city of Varanasi is not only the holiest site for the Hindus – it is also one of the most photogenic cities in the world. As the entire city is basically considered a temple, especially the Ganges embankment, you can witness (and even participate in) many Hindu rituals and prayers. I spent several days wandering the narrow streets and wide ghats of Varanasi taking hundreds of photographs. Here is the first part of this long series.
