Here are a few pictures from the animal market in the town of Karakol (formerly known as Przhevalsk) in Kyrgyzstan. Now predominantly Kyrgyz, there is still a sizeable Russian community there, even among the villagers from nearby. Regardless whom you speak to, Russian is still commonly used in this picturesque part of the country. These photos were taken in May 2019, about a year ago.
